Our leadership
Dr. Jemma Green - Co-founder & Chairman
After a decade in finance, including a role at J.P. Morgan in London, Jemma focused on sustainability in financial markets, evaluating clients’ environmental impact while ensuring profitability.
Jemma pursued a PhD in electricity market disruption focusing on shared solar power in an ecovillage—a precursor to Powerledger’s peer-to-peer sharing energy concept. During her PhD, she co-founded Powerledger, with John Bulich, leveraging blockchain tech for energy tracking and trading solutions for utilities and large corporations.
In addition to her industry work, she co-authored the best-selling book ‘Empathy and Understanding in Business’ with Chris Voss, the author of ‘Never Split the Difference.’ This book captures the reflection of Jemma’s leadership approach and power of empathy in business context. She recently launched Unblock’d podcast focused on entrepreneurship and VC insights.
John Bulich - Co-founder & Technical Director
John Bulich is a co-founder and technical director at Powerledger. He is a pioneer of blockchain technology in Australia and leads the development of the Powerledger platform. After co-founding Ledger Assets, he became renowned as a technology entrepreneur specialising in the design and implementation of blockchain. John provides the strategic direction for conceptual, system and application design and development for Powerledger. His vast experience in software and blockchain development gives Powerledger its technical edge.
